Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. As an elephant that could have become aggressive and hostile after her traumatic experiences, Mbegu is incredible in the amount of love and care she gives to the other orphans. 2016-02-10 Mbegu was just a baby when she lost everything.
Mbegu is a living, breathing reminder of the difference we can make when we take a stand of wildlife. An orphan of human-wildlife conflict, she was saved from certain death by brave individuals. Yet, out of tragedy has come hope for this extraordinary elephant who recovered from her injuries at our Nursery and now leads her own little herd of dedicated followers at our Voi Reintegration Unit.
