Christaller assumed freedom of movement in all directions, which would imply "airline" distances between centres. At the same time, he provided specific road networks for the CP system, which do not allow for airline distances. This is a major flaw which neither Christaller, nor early related literature have identified.

3 and 5. Christaller's CPT was evolved from the concept of centralization as an ordering principle. Chirstaller proposed that if the centralization of mass around a nucleus is an elementary form of order, then the same centralistic principle can be equated in Walter Christaller situates the secondary “central places” at an equal distance from the main “central place” inside the hexagon. Christaller worked in a field that was exploited politically to a high degree, nevertheless his theory became known very late, and appreciated first of all outside the geography's world. In 1941, thanks to Edward Ullman, Christaller's ideas were introduced in the US under the title 'A theory of location of cities'. Walter Christaller (April 21, 1893 – March 9, 1969), was a German geographer whose principal contribution to the discipline is central place theory, first published in 1933. This groundbreaking theory was the foundation of the study of cities as systems of cities, rather than simple hierarchies or single entities. Walter Christaller in examining the location and relationships among cities in southern Germany believed that there were systematic patterns. The ideal pattern would in practise be distorted by topography but its rational was very simple. An abbreviated version of Christaller's reasoning is as IntroductionCentral Place Theory (CPT) is an attempt to explain the spatial arrangement, size, and number of settlements.

Walter Christaller's honesty appears as "evident" in the way in which Marie-Claire Robic dissects map 4 of Die zentralen Orte in Süddeutschland: she reproduces it cut into two parts, so that she can mask the five-sided irregular figure which is supposed to "verify" the six-sided regular hexagonal theoretical diagram that Walter Christaller did not reproduce on his own map (see figure 5).

CHRISTALLER`S MODEL.Walter Christaller, a German geographer was the first to develop the concept of central place model in (1930). The model is seen to constitute the most powerful theoretical base for the study of the factors of location, size and number and the geometrical arrangement of cities in space.
